Schools shut down in Kashmir, Leh records -11 Degree C

Cold wave continued across the region of the Jammu and Kashmir forcing the authorities to close down the schools in the valley. With the down of mercury at minus 11 degree Celsius in Leh, the normal life has been affected in the region.

Srinagar recorded minus 2 degree on Monday morning, while the minimum temperature was minus 4.2 degree in Gulmarg and south Kashmir's Pahalgam hill station and minus 7 degree in Kargil.

The Met officials have forecast about light snowfalls in the entire Kashmir region from Wednesday, which would provide some relief to the residents.

The authorities have ordered to close all the government and private schools up to class 8 after the temperature was down in the valley. Leh was the coldest town Ladakh region recording a minimum temperature minus 11.4 degree Celsius.
