Lt Gen Prakash found Guilty in Sukna Land scam

Former Military Secretary Lieutenant General Avadesh Prakash was found guilty on three out of four charges in the Sukna land scam by the Army court on Saturday.

The accused was convicted by the General Court Martial in Guwahati. He has been dismissed from service after he was found guilty. He is accused of transferring 71 acres of land in West Bengal to a real estate developer in 2008.

The court martial proceedings against Lt Gen Prakash were completed on Friday.

Earlier, another senior officer and former 33 Corps Commander Lt Gen PK Rath was convicted in the same case in January this year. The army was order to cancel his seniority and some part of pension benefits.
