DMK MP Kanimozhi will have to wait for another two days to walk out free from Tihar jail as the Delhi High Court adjourned the hearing of her bail plea in the 2G spectrum allocation case till Monday.
Kanimozhi is hopeful to get bail after the Supreme Court granted bail to five corporate executives - Unitech Limited MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan Telecom Director Vinod Goenka and Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group executives Hari Nair, Gautam Doshi and Surendra Pipara.
The court on Friday adjourned the bail pleas of Kanimozhi and five others accused including Kalaignar TV chief Sharath Kumar, Cineyug Films' Karim Morani, Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd directors Asif Balwa and Rajiv B. Agarwal, and former Telecom Secretary Siddharth Behura.
Kanimozhi and five co-accused in the case had approached high court for early hearing of their bail applications. The court had on Thursday accepted their applications and decided for early hearing instead of December 1.
