Delhi Police appeared firm on its claim over the Ramlila Maidan crackdown saying Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev was responsible for the chaos at the ground on June 4 midnight.
Delhi Police clarified before the Supreme Court on Friday claiming Baba Ramdev's behaviour led to the violation of law and order at Ramlila ground.
They said that Ramdev was given permission to hold a yoga camp for 5,000 people, but more than 50,000 people had gathered at Ramlila for the protest.
Police alleged that it was Ramdev's behavoiur that forced them to act against people. First they asked Ramdev to vacate the premises as they were informed that communal violence will take place at Ramlila.
Earlier, the apex court had pulled up the Delhi Police for the midnight crackdown on the innocent people at Ramlila on June 4.
