Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa was granted bail on Tuesday in the 2G spectrum allocation scam a day after DMK MP Kanimozhi was given bail along with four other co-accused on Monday.
Balwa has to follow the same condition for the bail as others were ordered on Monday. He will have to furnish a bond surety of Rs 5 lakh and he will not be allowed for travel abroad.
The accused will walk free from Tihar by today evening. The order came 24 hours after Kanimozhi, filmmaker Karim Morani, Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar and private firm Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd directors Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal were granted bail by the Delhi High Court.
Balwa was in Tihar after he was arrested by the CBI in February. Even the agency did not oppose the bail for the Mumbai-based realty promoter.
