On Wednesday 23rd November, 2011 a new list of prominent Asians was released by Britain's Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg at the GG2 (Garavi Gujarat) Leadership Awards. Lakshmi Mittal, a well-known 61 years old NRI steel tycoon is the most influential Asian in Britain.
According to a report published by a weekly newspaper of Britain, “Lakshmi Mittal, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Arcelor Mittal, the world's leading incorporated steel and mining company, heads the Power list of 101 in the category of Industry.”
According to the GG2 Power 101, the properties of Mittal include- properties in Kensinghton Palace Gardens, a private jet, a £266 million yacht, and a green house set on a 340-acre estate in Surrey.
Lakshmi Mittal is not only a successful businessman, but a humanitarian and is a member of many boards and trusts. The other leading NRI industrialist in the list in the category of industry is Lord Swraj Paul who ranked 17th in the list.
