US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton arrived in Kolkata today on a
three-day India visit. She will meet West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata
Banerjee tomorrow.
Clinton arrived in Kolkata from Dhaka. She attended a programme at
the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) on issues related to
women. The programme was held at the Rabindranath Tagore Centre. She met
victims of human trafficking.
After meeting Mamata Benerjee tomorrow, Hillary Clinton would leave
for Delhi. It is speculated that the would urge India to cut oil imports
from Iran. High security arrangements have been made in Kolkata to
prevent any untoward incident during Hillary Clinton's visit.
